End Poverty

Creating Sustainable livelihoods

EP has formed Village Development Groups (VDGs) in the villages where it operates. Currently there are 20 such VDGs with over 220 members of these groups. VDG members meet regularly, undergo trainings and take up development work in their villages. These groups are developed, nurtured and supported by the organisation. EP provide hand holding to these groups, participate in their meetings and help in preparing minutes of the meeting, prepare resolution for onward submission to concerned Departments. VDG’s have implemented several works in their villages with the support of local Panchayats, MP/ MLA funds, Local Government Departments etc. such as boundary wall in school, covering of unused well, pavement, repair of hand pump, installation of new hand pump for drinking water, cleaning of village ponds, sanitary toilet, preparation of UID card, pension for old age and widow etc. The Southall Trust, U.K has provided support for development of VDGs. EP has also helped to mobilise more than 400 families from the villages in Tijara Block of Alwar District in Rajasthan and facilitated getting LPG connections Under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana.
