Animal Productivity Enhancement Program by End Poverty in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh.
Animal health management drive was carried out in 15 villages of Bulandshahr district of Uttar Pradesh.
Under the HRDP Project, it was found that in Bulandshahr district, despite having a large livestock population, the dairy farmers were unaware of the best animal health management practices and there were cases of mastitis and foot and mouth diseases especially during the rainy season so to overcome the problem and create awareness, livestock health management drive was carried out in 15 villages of Bulandshahr district of Uttar Pradesh. In order to address the problems related to animal health facilities in the villages, health camps were organized and information was given to 535 farmers about the prevention of livestock diseases. More than 3500 animals were vaccinated during the drive. To improve animal nutrition, information was given about feed supplements and cattle feed. Along with this deworming of 673 animals was done and dairy kits consisting of potassium permanganate, mineral mixture, and medicines were distributed to 535 farmers.
